  • How old are you and when do you plan to retire?

    I will go first.

I am 4 years younger than Steve and I plan to retire when Steve is 59.

If possible, I will retire sooner than Steve's 59th birthday.

Steve is 52 since the OP makes absolutely no sense without that information.

I'm not really sure of the answer to the retirement question. My view on that has recently changed. My plan had been to retire at 62. The change has come from me starting my new part time Urgent Care job. That is something that I can definitely see myself doing on a PT basis indefinitely. As long as I have the flexibility to pick and choose my schedule, I could work as much or as little as I want to. I worked 4 hours last week and 4 hours this week. Next week I'll work 8 hours. A few weeks ago, I worked 16 hours. Some weeks I don't work at all.

So I can see myself "retiring" from my full time practice sooner than 62 and replacing it with some part time urgent care work rather than stopping work entirely.

Why do we call it retire? I wasn't aware I tired during my life and when I got done I get to retire.
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you're stupid and make bad choices.
