I work in two fields. One is IT, and don't think you can't automate deciphering ignorance. I don't mean every problem is due to someone being ignorant or if you need IT help you are not competent(some people read into things too much). Sometimes the computer just messes up due to file corruption, etc. But some of the things I have to figure out when people call just to know what they are even talking about is amazing. Non-tech people don't know the terms very well for instance. I've spent 10 min on the phone trying to reboot a computer at a store just to find out they had been turning the monitor on and off the whole time, not the tower.
As for automated problem solving, it could work to a point. However, there are MANY times you either can't find a solution online(automated would have to work off predefined issues and solutions) and you have to figure it out on your own, or the solution you find doesn't entirely work and you have to figure out what is still missing in the process. I think the basic stuff could get AI replaced, or get built into an OS maybe, however, there are too many other variables. That doesn't even touch the hardware side. There are programs to test hardware, but I've had to go behind a diagnostic program before and still found a problem in something it said was good.
The other field is in ministry, as you've probably heard me mention occasionally. I don't think you would want a robot giving marriage advice or emotional counseling. lol!
