My husband hasn't been able to drive or work since February because his vision is so bad! So it isn't like he could just wear his old glasses. Just needed to vent and I suspect that FLA could relate! Hubby has corneal lattice dystrophy in his family and prior to corneal replacement surgery availability, many of his relatives went completely blind including his grandmother. Out of four kids in his family only one brother doesn't have it and they are all on their second set of corneas and his mom in on her second or third set! One very good reason I was happy to be past having kids when we got married.

I was going to have to wait 8-10 weeks for my final glasses so I splurged and got a temporary prescription. I can't read a book or really see tv with it but at least I'm not "blind". Good luck to your husband!

try googling the blog "Glassy Eyes", the guy talks you through all the measurements you need. It hasn't been updated in a long time but the info he gives is very helpful when it comes to your first time ordering online.

      Hi Guys,

I jumped on the Zenni chat application to do some preliminary research...their cheapest price is $6.95, which gets you a basic frame and some lenses.

They work their ops out of china, which is probably why they can do such low prices.

      Does Zenni offer any discounts?

We are not offering any promotions at this time. We do not currently have a start date for our next promotion however if you sign up for our newsletters in your account we will email you to let you know right before the next one starts.

      James Hendrickson 5:45:00 PM

what is the cheapest set of glasses you offer please?

      Anna 5:46:13 PM

The cheapest frame we offer costs $6.95

The listed price is for frames plus a basic single vision lens. Specialty lenses (bifocal/progressive, hi-index, photochromic, polarized, etc) are an additional cost. The pricing for lenses is on the order form on the Lens page (section 2).

I signed up for email and got a 10% off offer

10 yrs ago, they took forever to ship but they also handled a return really well

Every site is coming in right around $120 for high index, progressive lenses and I can't find anything except one pair on Zenni that is narrow enough. I might have to make a road trip to Costco. I have a feeling I wouldn't spend that much more there and I could try them on. And I can do research on prescription meds for when my Cobra ends. I wonder if you can fill NY scripts in Massachusetts?
