I am having eye surgery Weds on my "good" eye, I just had my bad eye done. I may not be able to get a new glasses prescription until week 4-6 post-op. Which means I will be blind. I can't identify my children when we are face to face when I don't have glasses on, lol. I am not relishing the prospect of sitting around blind for a month at all. Books on CD and podcasts are all I can think of doing.

so please hit me with your favorite podcasts, not just personal finance ones, anything you happen to like! TIA

I'm a major Disney fan (in case you hadn't already figured that out) and I'm fiercely devoted to the DIS Unplugged shows (disunplugged.com). In fact, we just got back from Florida where we attended their 10th anniversary celebration weekend.

One of their shows - DIS Pop - is not all Disney. It focuses on a lot of pop culture stuff like movie reviews and video games and such too.

I'm not a Dave Ramsey follower but I actually find his show entertaining (not always in the way he intended but such is life). I won't listen to it all the time because it gets repetitive but I will go through spurts where I listen for a couple of weeks. I certainly don't agree with everything he teaches but it can be interesting to hear people's stories.

I think my favorite podcast overall is; RADIOLAB, by WNYC.
Great all around science, ideas, technology, and random (always interesting) theme podcast. The hosts are great and the production is impeccable. They are slow to create new ones, but they have a massive achieve which is full of great episodes, I can't recommend it enough.

I'll list some of my other fav's based off loose subject organization.

Comedy/Science: StarTalk Radio Hosted By Neal Tyson, Infinite Monkey Cage hosted by Brian Cox and Robyn Inse

            Interview Format:
Joe Rogan ExperienceLong form interviews, but really interesting guy and format. A lot of comedy and his interests are woven in (hunting, martial arts, life as a comedian, science, and nutrition.
            Mark Maron Comedy/Interview
Time Ferriss PodcastSuper interesting entrepreneur and author. (Wrote 4 hour Work-week, 4 hour body,etc...)

            All around funny/entertaining show:
Adam Carolla Show News/humor/interview/plus reoccurring gags. great show
Legion of Skanks (Very explicit, NYC comedians riffing. Very rough but very funny.

            Documentary/Story telling:
This American Life Great story telling show, very well done.
Serial great series documenting an alleged murder and it's case.
            Moth Radio hour
Stuff you should know - Love this one, literally they have an archive documenting how/why/what just about anything is. Top 5 favorites.

And last but not least, Dan Carlin's Hardcore History Probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite podcast overall. Excellent story teller and historian (though he claims not to be one). Recants many fascinating periods/battles/times in human history, and references research from many different sources. I love that he gives multiple perspectives, disclaimers, and opinions and then will share his and allow you to draw your own conclusions based off of the many different perspectives. Really amazing podcast, highly recommend.

I hear ya, I'm like a podcast junkie now. I try to force myself to listen to music at least once a week on the way to/from work. I've just found myself thirsting for knowledge, perhaps too much even recently.
