    That's the standard response, but eventually the economy gets saturated by high-speed automation.

    An analogy:, give a patient a minim of ethanol per hour. No problem, right? Two minims, three minims, four, five, six, ... one hundred, two hundred minims of alcohol every hour. Why, it seems as if you can indefinitely increase the amount of ethanol that the body can consume without showing any ill effects.

    But obviously, at some point, the liver becomes saturated and the body does start showing ill effects. The economy is like that, too.

    I don't believe that automation will ever result in workers not being needed.
    Some workers will always be needed. Some.
