  • weak starbucks when you dont tip?

i was in starbucks yesterday getting my wifes regular caramel macchiotto and i decided to splurge and get one for myself too, total came out to under $12, i handed them $12 and gave the change back to my wife. i dont usually tip for someone to make me a coffee and yesterday was no exception, we got our drinks and immeduatly my wife says it doesnt taste like usual, i cracked open my cup and there was hardly any caramel.

i think i may have read an article about something to this fact and now witnessed it first hand

Did you complain that they weren't made properly? I doubt that it was because you didn't tip. I never tip at counter service restaurants. And the person making your drinks probably didn't know if you tipped or not.

No...its not because you didnt tip. The person making your drink just sucked that day. You could have told them and they would have added more. Happened to my wife several times...you simply ask for more caramel and they hook you up.

I agree with Disneysteve. I don't think the barista making the drink knows whether you tipped or not. I use an AP to preorder my drink and I don't add a tip in until after I pick up my drink.

Starbucks has a policy that if you don't like the way they made your drink, they will make it over. I've had them remake my drink a couple of times over the years when they put the wrong kind of milk in my latte. (It tasted sweet-- I think it was soy milk or something). Anyway, I told the barista and a new drink was made--no problem.
