eating out?

Since becoming a family of 3, our eating out habits have changed a bit. My 1 year old hates to sit still, and I hate trying to keep her entertained while we wait for a seat/food. So, we only eat out with her when we're invited to join a big group, and times we make it out for just the two of us to enjoy a meal are pretty limited. There are a lot of months when we don't eat out at all. When we do it out, it tends to be a special occasion and we splurge more than we used to.

We've averaged $110/month over the past 12 months, including the week we were on vacation and spent $400 in restaurants.

Family of 3, probably average about $100/month on restaurants.

This would be pretty close:

Lunch every workday is $10 = $200
Wife eats lunch out maybe 3 times per week x $10 = $120
We go out for supper and drinks about twice per week x $70 = $560

Total = $880 / month

Years ago I used to be in this exact same category, it can be very expensive to eat out everyday at work.

No budget; I think we spend about $1k +/- each month on restaurants.

We only dine out once or twice per week, but order takeouts very frequently (when you've got restaurant phone numbers programmed into your contacts, it kind of becomes a frequent and spontaneous thing to order takeouts).

Pre-retirement, we dine out more often. Now that we're retired, we've got more time to cook (I love to cook... maybe because I love to eat).

not good to eat out often, soo many resturants are dirty or practice in an unsanitary way, often times deliberatly dealing dirty.

my wife works in a thai resturaunt and the other day a police officer was having a plate of pad thai noodles for lunch, he started eating and got a call to leave. he paid and left his plate about 3/4 or more full, the owner kept the plate and spruced it up for another customer, the owner tried to keep it under wraps but my wife saw it all

She needs to blow the whistle.
I don't think I will work at a place where I know the owner is dishonest.

My main concern eating out isn't surprised sharing of food (I don't think many restaurants do that), but I'm more concerned with healthy eating and general sanitation, and to a much less extent, getting the actual promised ingredients in my food.

im not the wistleblower type unless something directly affects me, never have been and never will. gross as it is, it is happening more often than you might think, i used to deliver beer and have seen some pretty dirty resturaunts. you have dirty resturaunts and workers with bad intentions, i used to work with a guy that was the grill cook at jack in the box and he told me storys of bodily fluids in food, there are these stories everywhere

Precisely why I eat out so often. By now my stomach is like stainless steel.

I estimate about $50 a month. I can count on one hand the number of times per year I buy lunch during the work week. We probably go to a nice restaurant once every 4-6 months, and maybe fast food once every 2-3 months.
