  • Companies are hiring call center workers to handle the surge in unemployment claims.

    (No, this isn't spam. )

Atos NA (my employer for almost five years) is hiring. If you OR someone you know needs work and is an adult U.S. citizen who has a dedicated PC with headphone/microphone and fast internet, then PM me and I'll give you the contact email address.

EDIT: this is the email my company sent out yesterday.

    Colleagues,

COVID-19 continues to disrupt the economy, resulting in an unprecedented number of jobless claims. State employment agencies around the country are overwhelmed by people calling to request information and apply for benefits. This past weekend, Atos was asked to provide immediate support to one state’s Employment Security Commission due to an unprecedented number of inquiries. Atos quickly stood up an operation with 100 call center agents to help meet some of the demand, but we still need more help.

Atos employees are assigned to other projects, and we’re currently utilizing the bench to best support all our customers. So, we are asking for your help. Many of you shared feedback when we needed help to support our existing Service Desks in Manila. You wanted to offer an opportunity to your friends and family. So today, we are happy to share that we are asking you to refer friends and family who may be able to help us with demand for calls into state employment agencies.

These are ongoing paid positions and would require the person to answer incoming phone calls via a PC, registering and recording the information into a ticketing system (ServiceNow) and providing them help. The key requirements are:

    • U.S. Citizen
    • 18 years of age or older
    • A dedicated personal PC, and headset or earphones with audio capabilities.
    • Internet connection capable of handling voice calls
    • English, Spanish or Vietnamese speakers

Current shifts are 40 hours a week; 8 a.m. to 5p.m. CT- Monday through Friday. This will grow to 8 a.m. to Midnight, 7 days a week. Training will be provided. It will start each day this week at 9:30 a.m. CT, as we quickly scale up the team.

We will be utilizing one of our key strategic recruiting partners ‘Hays’ to help facilitate the hiring process. Please have your friends and family send names, email and phone number, and resume (if they have one) with the Subject line: Atos Friends and Family to this email link: (redacted).

Our customer is looking to Atos for help. If you have a friend or family member who needs immediate work during these times, please ask them to help us meet our client challenges.

    Best Regards,

    Corporate Communications

It's a full-time job as a remote customer service representative. Atos is a large multinational computer services company. (I've worked for them as a DBA for almost five years, since they purchased the ITO -- IT Outsourcing -- division from Xerox.)

Rather than having people go through you, just post the link so people can get it on their own. It seems skeptical when someone says "I have something goo but you can only get it from me." Throw it out there and if it is good it will sell on its own.

Because putting the recruitment email address on a public web page invites spam. I will, though, add more of my company's email to my original post.

            Thanks for the share.
Sounds like it could be a good gig for someone looking for work
