My understanding from past research is that Metro PCS is a good option if you live in a larger city, but it peters out in the styx. With that said, I also know they've been expanding alot lately (under the auspices of the T-Mobile network), and I'm considering it as an option for myself once I'm out of my current contract.
To your specific question, once you exceed the 4G data limit, you get throttled down to 3G (from the official reports I can find), which is sufficient for everything you should need EXCEPT video streaming. While it may still be possible, it won't be very high quality, and will take a LONG time to buffer. Video calls will work, but they will likely be jerky & often become grainy/digitized. Also, keep in mind that Metro PCS customers get lower priority for data than normal T-Mobile customers, so even 4G may not be as lickety-split as it could be.Last edited by kork13; 03-06-2016, 03:52 PM.
