  • Treasury and IRS to delay tax season deadline by 90 days

    CNBC is reporting that the IRS will delay tax season deadlines by 90 days.

    The filing deadline is delayed until July 15th.
    • Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Tuesday that taxpayers can delay paying their income taxes on as much as $1 million in taxes owed for up to 90 days.
    • Ordinarily, individual income taxpayers must submit their 2019 tax returns by April 15. This delay could push the due date to July 15.
    • This relief is for federal returns only, check your state tax authority for their deadlines.
    • Interest and/or penalties on funds owed will not be levied during the grace period.

      i thought the deadline was still 4.15, but only payment deferred?
