Do you know what procrastination is? Procrastination is when we have a business opportunity in front of us, and do nothing. If we have an opportunity that awaits us, we have to try and take advantage of it, and do the work to succeed.
According to the Nobel Prize winner,Kahnmen: There are two distinct ways the brain forms thoughts:
System 1: Fast, automatic, frequent, emotional, stereotypic, subconscious
System 2: Slow, effortful, infrequent, logical, calculating, conscious
System 2 represents the conscious self that makes choices and decides what to do. System 1 represents the instinctual mental events that allow us to make quick decisions with little mental energy. We could not survive without System 1 and yet it often causes us to make systematic errors in specific situations.
( Information comes from Wikipedia )
When encountering something emergent, we are prone to avert it without any consideration of the dire consequence. Because at that time we are predominated by System 1 (System 1 is liable to substituting a difficult question with a more simple one )

How about rackless risk taking?
Some are natural born risk takers who'd jump in head first. Sometimes with bloody results. But sometimes with perfect 10.
I'm sure if a good investment opportunity that meets someone's risk tolerance levels (and within the means) that was made know to that person, he/she would jump into it. If he/she doesn't, then obviously it exceeded his/her risk tolerance : )
