When we bought our house the seller offered to sell us the TV in the bonus room. It was probably 60" but at the time he bought it they were priced like 70" TV's today. I don't remember what he said he had paid for it but think it was close to $3k. We didn't even bother to find out what he would have taken for it, since we suspected that even used it would cost us more than a new TV. We said no thank you, waited a couple years to settle in with our older, smaller TV, and this year bought a lovely 55" TV for $1200. The 60" felt too big for the space. Still more than we've ever spent on a TV before but we do love it and the size is perfect for us.
