Amazon raised minimum wage... then cut bonuses and stock awards

    it is possible that demand caused the raises but...…... I think the pressure from many opinions and news discussions that recently talked about passing legislation for large companies to reimburse the government when their fulltime low end employees are still on Medicaid/ and food stamps. I saw a lot of Amazon bashing from both sides of the aisle lately.
    these raises were announced just a week after a very public discussion I watched.

    Bezos could take a symbolic $1 salary and pay for all sorts of raises and perks for employees with out changing ONE other item and thus ease any investor fear of how to pay for it.

      Sure, which just supports my original point (which was not to bash Amazon). The point is that the money has to come from somewhere.

        The problem is political, not necessarily economic. When a single company controls so much of the economy, they naturally want to get politicians to stack laws in their favor, which harms democracy.
