My name is Francine, I am 45, single mom to two teens. I have always been fairly frugal, a good saver but my life has taken an unexpected turn, leading to the need for a total overhaul. I was a hospice nurse, loved it, planned to stay there until retirement. Had a health crisis in Sept, became unable to work, never dreamed it would be permanent, but it is. So a lot of adjustments to be made, I look forward to the advice on here!

Welcome to the site. Is there anything specific we can help you with? Budgeting? Debt repayment? Something else.Originally posted by FLA View PostMy name is Francine, I am 45, single mom to two teens. It was always my pleasure. I'm glad you had help with your grandparents and I've sorry you lost themOriginally posted by ExcuseMyIgnorance View PostHi, Francine. Thank you for the work you did as a hospice nurse. My grandparents both passed in the last month. I'm grateful for the people who helped us in their final moments.

what I really have to do is get out all my 403B, small pension, IRA and Roth IRA and find the notes I took when all this happened. I was able to get answers to roughly how much I can take now that I'm disabled without touching the principle. I know I did this because I panicked when I realized how low the SSDI payments are and it can take 2 years to get them. But memory, and embarrassingly, occasional confusion ,have caused me to totally forget what they said. Once I have the numbers, is it ok to post your portfolio and budget here and ask for advice or is that too personal? Also, I think it would be best to take my 403b funds that are already in Vanguard Index funds and move them into a Vanguard IRA because I am paying unnecessary fees to my old employer. But I'm not sure.Originally posted by disneysteve View PostWelcome to the site. Is there anything specific we can help you with? Budgeting? Debt repayment? Something else.

Many people post their financials, its only too personal for the person posting. Always make sure you don't post any actual account information though. Most posts the first thing most respond with is tell us about your budget and your financials and then we can begin offering up ideas. Welcome. I am recently new here and have read alot of the posts. These guys are full of good information.
