  • Looks like the new forum format kinda killed the board

Not much activity lately. I would recommend going back to the old board.

Being down for a couple of days and coming back rather funky certainly wasn't good for "business". Hopefully, people will find their way back. There is a bit of a learning curve to the new format which is a little frustrating but that's true of any tech upgrade.

Yeah, activity will pick back up as we all get used to the new formatting, and as some of the other functions return to fully operational. I already appreciate the better display format for my phone (90% of how I access the site). Folks are just getting used to the changes, which is never easy.

Something easy that needs addressed...or maybe its user error. On threads with multiple pages...there needs to be a button we can click that takes us to the last page. As its set up now, you have to type the number of the last page in the "page" field, then press enter. Thats no bueno...we need the dual arrow option back so we can click that to get to last page.

Also...for the avatar/username section whenever we post...it would be nice to see the year the user joined and number of posts like it used to. Gives some credibility when someone posts. Nice to see when its a new member with almost no posts.

It's still there. It's on the right where it lists the last post. Click on the arrows and it takes you to the last post.

Im not seeing it at the top...I only have single arrows that go from one page to the next. If I scroll to the bottom I do see all the pages listed, which I can then click on the last page number. I guess I didnt notice that before. I can live with that.

Also not a bad idea to bring back the "who's online or users viewing this thread." Not really something thats necessary but its still a nice touch.

Sorry, you mean when you are in a particular thread. I was referring to when you are at the main page of that forum where all the threads are listed. Two different things.

I like the new format, looks fresh! Yes it will take a little bit to learn all the in's and out's but hey, it's keeping your brain active, and that's good!

Random thing I'm finding as I use the boards... It seems that as I view a thread, it disappears from the "New Topics" search results, which is a bit annoying if I want to go back & read a topic that I've just responded to. Is there any way to have a similar auto-search link available that lists all of the active topics from the last 24 hours, regardless of if they've been viewed?

It should pop up under the tab "Subscriptions." This will be where all of the posts you've commented on or responded to will pop up. Does that answer your question? When someone new responds to the thread, you should have a read notification up top where it says "notifications."

Let me know if that helps
