Republic wireless question

Hi everyone. I'm looking into less expensive cell phone options. From what I've read, neither republic or ting allow callers in the continental US to call the US Virgin Islands, but a friend told me she has a friend that has republic and she does call the Virgin Islands. I have close family in the islands and we talk and text almost daily so this is pretty important. Do any of you know about this?

On their website it states that the Virgin Islands are considered an international call. I don't know if maybe it is because she calls form wifi? Wifi calls would n't be an issue to call internationally as you wouldn't be using their cell towers.

I would call RW and ask or ask on their forums. Those folks are very helpful.

Thanks for your input! I've decided to keep the phone service I have for now and maybe revisit this issue later this year.
