My wife and I are going to a festival this weekend. I kept meaning to go online and buy tickets in advance. They were $8 online or $10 at the gate. Well I finally remembered this morning and went online to find out that online sales were closed and we have to pay at the gate. So I wasted $4 by waiting. Chalk it up to "stupid tax".

I always lose with buy in advance. I bought an entry to the baltimore marathon back in June when it was about half the price. Then found out I have like 4 other things going on that weekend that I should go to. So while there'a other races and events I saved on by booking early, that wiped out all the savings. I'll sell it on craigslist, but won't get what I paid for it...

I'm always a little nervous when I book hotels with the special non-cancellable advance purchase super-duper discount rate. So far, though, we've never had a problem and have always been able to travel as planned but I figure eventually I might get bitten by that but that's the risk you take when you take advantage of those deals.Originally posted by edg126 View PostI always lose with buy in advance. * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.
