Thanks for the assurance, I love cruising, but prefer going to "different" locations...so far, I've done Europe (Western Med), Canada and Alaska. I've actually never even been to the Caribbean, but there were no destinations available when we could go within our budget.

I'm a big fan of Cruise Critic, I've gotten lots of info from there. Our ports are Cozumel (doing an all-inclusive beach day), Belize (doing a Mayan ruin tour through the ship), Roatan Honduras (doing a zipline/beach day combo), and Costa Maya (leaving it unplanned since it's the last port and a short day).

Sounds good. The Caribbean islands do all have their own unique sites and flavor. Personally, I wouldn't do the beach day since we aren't beach people. When we were in Cozumel, we did a clear kayak and snorkeling excursion which was a lot of fun. In Belize, we went cave tubing which was really neat. Haven't been to Costa Maya.

Last year we took a big trip overseas.

This year we are staying closer to home. Our plans are for a 3-day/2-night trip to Dallas-Fort Worth (very soon) and a 2-day/1-night trip to Corpus Christi (fall or winter), both by car.

Our budget is $425 + gas for the DFW trip. We could do it much cheaper but this may well be our one and only trip to DFW so we will make the most of it. Our hotels will be basic but nice, we plan on seeing all the "must see sites," and we will eat at some decent restaurants that serve DH's native cuisine.
