    I have seen a BUNCH of postings on this & other sites regarding the cost of this.

    Someone said $86/month
    I pay $95/month
    Others have posted $105/month

    What is the basis for this difference?

    I think everyone starts with these costs. ($104.90/mo)



    Then, there is help for some people in meeting those costs, especially as some live in states that want to make sure their qualifying citizens have signed onto Medicare.

      I went on Medicare in June 2011. I did NOT apply for any extra help programs. However, I was collecting unemployment at the time - $1300/month + a VERY small spousal pension of $120/month for a total income of $1440/month = $17280.

      My income is now nearly double and has been nearly that since 2013 but my Part B premium has not changed. Am I locked in at the lower rate?
