    What is a statement balance?

    Buckybader,

I'm one of those people. I've only noticed the two balances were different on my CC statement a year old and I'm middle-aged and have had CCs since age 18. Backstory, I was one of those people who never "cared about money" and just lived and spent day by day until I all of a sudden "woke up" last year after reading about another poster's debt. I've been visiting this site since then).

What's the difference between statement balance and current balance? Why is a statement balance even included if the important thing is what the current balance is?

What is wrong with paying a CC multiple times per month? I do that because if I wait for the due date of the CC something might have come up before then that I'll have to use the money for. Consequently, I pay on the CC as soon as I have the extra money on me: $20, 45, etc., and then pay the amount due on the due date. Thanks for your response in advance. I didn't know that I should be aware of the differences.
