    This is us as well.

We have been with BOA for 9 years now and have had no problems or fees.

And when there was an issue, it never took more than a quick phone call to correct it.

I've never paid a penny in fees because I've never done anything that generated a fee. My checking has always been completely free. I had my daughter open her checking and savings accounts there and she has not paid a penny in fees.

They have a broad ATM network. They have a good website, online banking, and very good mobile banking app. I get to deposit all of my checks from home with my iPhone (which I realize isn't unique to BOA). Service in branches, on the rare occasion that I enter a branch, has always been friendly and competent.

Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've never had a moment's trouble with them. Obviously, others have, and I'm not debating that at all. If you're unhappy wit the service, by all means go somewhere else. I just don't understand when some folks (not in this thread) suggest that anyone staying with BOA (or Citi, or Wells Fargo, or wherever) must be stupid or not be paying attention or not care.

They don't do the monthly service charge on minimum balance anymore if I recall correctly.

They do have random charges, such as if someone deposits for you, you'll get a fee for keeping your account secure.

You know who sucks? Compass Bank (now called BBVA Compass). They got BOUGHT OUT by an multinational in Spain and didn't even tell their own customers. The BBVA is short for something in Spanish. And they have fees if you keep a balance less than $1500.
