My new apartment has four window boxes. Right now they are full of weeds. I have basically zero gardening knowledge. Should I just pull all the weeds and use the dirt that is in there? I am pretty sure the boxes are fixed to the side of the building. What can I grow? They are maybe 8-10" deep I would guess. I don't see a ton of pigeons around our area, so hopefully they won't bother them. And we are too high up for rats or raccoons to be an issue. The side of the building they are on faces North-Westish.
