First time post, long time lurker. I had a weird experience this morning and just want to confirm that I'm thinking this through correctly.
Does anyone know anything about Ambit Energy? I had someone representing this company stop by my house this morning claiming that they could lower my energy bills. The also said that I would get a free trip if I signed up.
The savings sounded good, but then he started going on about how I could get "free energy" and even get paid. That's when I started to get concerned as it just didn't seem right (that whole "if it's too good to be true" thing). He also said that my energy savings would be guaranteed, but never would say how it would be guaranteed if I ended up having to pay more.
I finally got him to leave, but I said I would think about it and he said he would stop by next week. it was a pretty high pressure sales pitch which also concerns me. Thoughts about if I did the right thing and what I should say/ask when he returns next week?
