    Pass along yet another congratulations, a big milestone moving from high school to college. I'm confident she'll handle it well, the big question is how her parents adjust.

      I think that will totally depend on how well she adjusts. If she is texting DW constantly day and night, it will be a problem. If she settles in and doesn't do that so much, it will be much easier on our end. I don't have high hopes of that though knowing my daughter.

        I'm guessing guys respond to 100% freedom differently than teen girls. Since leaving home, our guys habitually make a decision and then tell us after the fact. Some have shaken us to our shoes but worked out ok in the long run. DH has the hardest time adjusting to sons out of city, out of province 6 hrs away by air.

        One of the techniques we used was to answer a question with a question. A favorite was 'so what are your three options? ' Can DW identify areas/topics that seem to make DD uncomfortable? Would daughter be willing to help make family decisions for the next 10 months?
