  • Looking for a good deep clean vacuum

    Hey all,

Looking for a good deep clean vacuum. Had a guy come demo this Majestic vacuum. Signed up to win a prize at the home and garden show and they called offering $100 in gift cards if I let this guy demo this vacuum at my home. Thought why not. I was shocked at the dirt this thing pulled up from the new carpet, however I couldn't help but laugh at the prospect of him wanting over $3,000 for this thing. As he was talking I checked EBAY to find refurbs going for 200-300 bucks.

He left without a sale, but did leave me wanting a good vacuum.

Any suggestions? Not opposed to paying good money, just don't want a gimmick device either.

We have a Dyson DC-17 Animal and are very happy with the amount of stuff this thing picks up. We have 2 dogs, so we vacuum often, and this machine holds up well.

Only gripe: It is very plastic and creaky, so it doesn't feel solid. I am guessing that for the power plant they put in it and the tubing, they had to settle for lightweight materials.

I'm not sure they make the model we have, or maybe they do, but I think they switched most models to the "ball" configuration (which we do not have).

I am a Dyson fan as well. I have had mine for about 5 years now and it still does an excellent job picking up dirt and dust. I am still amazed at how much "dirt" gets sucked up when I finish vacuuming and empty out the canister.

On the down side, they seem to be more expensive than other brands, but to me it is well worth it...I am a bit of a "clean freak."
