  • 709!

I am less than two years out of a medical bankruptcy, and I just got my updated FICO score. It's 709. Right after the bankruptcy discharged it was in the 590's. It feels so good to be able to get credit again and not be under all that suffocating debt, wondering if I would ever be able to get out of it. I currently have no balances on any of my credit cards either. I have one card that I use and pay off each month. My husband had no credit score at all until earlier this year, and his is now in the 700's too. This probably sounds pathetic, but I never thought I'd get this far.

Congrats on getting your score up so much. Keep at it and you will top 800 before you know it.

I just realized that 10 years ago I was sleeping in the airport, and today I am working there, and making a good income. When you lose your income and can't get credit of any kind, homelessness is quick to follow. It's easy for me to get frustrated with what feels like a lack of progress, but I have to recognize just how far I have made it.
