    If you are a "we" and your spouse is working, can you life on just that income for the next few months to feel how it would be if you are laid off?

      My advice is to budget well, spend minimally and save as much as you can. You should try to save up an emergency fund that will help carry you through if/when you get laid off or suffer any financial hardships. Many say at least 6 months, but I think the amount is a matter of judgment and up to the individual as it would depend on how long you believe it would take to find another job and/or get back on your feet.

      But, if you are suspecting the layoff is coming, I agree that you should probably start looking for a new job now as the process can take some time and who knows, you may find something that works better for you!
