End of summer preparations to save money

With the end of summer, what things should I be doing now in preparation to save money in the fall and winter? Do you have seasonal checklist of things to do each year? If you do, I'd love it if you would share. That's what I'm trying to do right now and I know there are a ton of things I'm forgetting.

With the end of the gardening season, you should clean all of your gardening tools, oil the ones that need it, wrap them and store them for next season. Doing this each year will save you a ton of money not needing to buy new tools each season.
