Raising money for treatment of Mom

Hey Folks, im new here.
Im trying to find out the best ways to raise money online for my mom to get hyperbaric oxygen treatments.
17 months ago my mom had a massive stroke and as a result she cant move or speak, she can only move her eyes.
I recently saw a hospital in israel doing hyperbaric treatments for stroke patients and having fantastic results, so I thinking of trying this for my mom also.

My Main question is what are the best ways online to try and raise the money for her treatments?

I think local fund raisers tend to be more successful personally. A friend is having advanced cancer treatments and is a young single mom of limited means. The local benefit went very well but they are also using giveforward.com
