I set my fan on medium. It must be nice to have an air conditioner (lol).

I set it to 76 - 78 in SE NC. When I leave the house I set it to 80.

80 or 81 when I'm home during the day; 82 or 83 at night; 85 or 86 when I'm not home (it was lower when our dog was still alive). But if I'm going to be doing a lot of running around, housecleaning for example, I'll indulge myself and set it to 79. Last year we bought a stand alone dehumidifier which really helps.

It's off throughout the day when I'm at work. Usually turn it on to 75 when we're home in the evening and then we'll turn it down to 73ish to sleep.

Well here in the Sacramento region it has been extremely hot. I have it at 75/77 during the day. At night I have 69/70 - I cant sleep any higher than that.

We live in HUMID New Jersey. If we kept our AC on 80, the wallpaper would be peeling off the walls.

Ours is set on 75 during the day, 73 at night.

At my office, it is on 71 during the day because the front door is constantly opening letting in hot, humid air, so it's hard to keep up.

It depends on what I am doing. Generally 73. If I am doing something kind of warm like scrubbing all the floors etc I will let it bump down for about 60 min to 69.

i feel for you guys that have to run the system 24/7, were lucky enough to get the offshore cool down by 7:00 every evening

i probably run the AC from noon to 7 when its hot

We run the AC as much for the humidity as we do for the heat most days. Also, my wife and daughter both have allergies so opening the windows isn't an option even on nicer days. We do have a good dehumidifier but we still need the AC on to totally do the job.

In the past, our numbers were 78 during the day and 74 at night.

For some reason, this summer I've been setting it manually a couple degrees cooler. Our bedroom is upstairs, and I have a hard time sleeping if it's above 72 or so.

I always try to cool the house off with open windows in the evening, if the weather allows it.

We manually turn it on when we need to(usually around 1-2PM and set it 72 and then off later in the evening around 9-11 PM). We have a room AC for our bedroom when the whole house AC is off and it is set at 66. We also live and work full time in our house so for us the equivalent of many of you going to work in AC. We moved in here and within a week we had to have the AC installed as physically I couldn't tolerate the heat. That isn't just a whiny me begging for it. My hubby made what he calls a unilateral decision when he saw how swollen my feet and legs were and how wilted I was in the heat. We do try to not run it any more than needed and fortunately we can deduct part of the cost of the electric to run it as a business expense.

We have had a very wet spring and so we have been running the sump pump probably more than the AC since the rain helps cool things down.

I have a programmable thermostat. It's set at 76 during the day when I'm home.
It kicks up to 82 when I leave for work back to 76 when I'm leaving to come home. It goes back up to 80 about an hour after I go to bed and down to 76 about 30 minutes before my alarm goes off in the morning.

Occasionally, I lower it a few degrees, knowing it will go back to its regular setting shortly.
For example, in the morning when my shower was a little too hot and I'm getting ready for work. And at night, right before I go to bed - it's easier to fall asleep when it's cooler.
Most of the time, I never touch the thermostat.

                              Off.

It is usually off all the time. I use ceiling fans in the living room or bedroom. Here in Sacramento the past few days have been horrible and I have been using it from 8 to 930 pm to cool off before bed time. It was set to 79 for those 90 minutes.

Even though it gets close to 100 in summer (or over like the past 10 days) the ceiling fans do a great job.
