I'm down about 10 pounds in the last month an a half. I'm on the "having a food budget plan." For some reason I have no discipline when it comes to food alone, but spending money is a different story. It's just way too easy in a moment of weakness to walk half a block to the convenience store and get all the crappy food I want if I'm just trying to diet, but knowing that it's going to take 10 or 15 out of my grocery budget and stretch things kind of thin for the rest of the month will keep me from doing it.

As for what I eat, my DH is diabetic with kidney and heart problems so we eat moderate amounts of carbs, moderate protein (chicken, beans, lentils or tofu), low saturated fat, and low sodium. The only way to make this happen is by cooking from scratch, so we generally eat pretty clean. We do lots of salads, stir fry, big pots of beans with various seasonings, tofu with veggies rice and peanut sauce, burritos or tacos, spaghetti with homemade sauce.

I do get a soda or order of fries here and there at work, but that comes out of my personal allowance so it's limited to once or twice a week. My manager at my part time job buys peanut butter m&m's from Costco, and two days a week I eat those like they are going out of style, but it's apparently not enough to keep me from losing weight. Some of my work pants are falling off now. I will be annoyed if I have to spend money on new ones.
