There seems to be buzz cropping up around the internet about a potential credit card breach at Rakuten.com/formerly Buy.com.
Rakuten Fraud
Has anyone here experienced this themselves? I have! My brand new Amex card's first purchase in March was at Rakuten.com. A little over a week later, a nearly $300 purchase was made at a major internet retailer. I contacted Amex and they sent me the transaction details. My name, address, and phone number were listed, but the item was shipped to an address a couple towns away from me. I was so convinced this was a local job - I went and filed a police report! The officer found out this lady bought the item on ebay, and the seller used my card to have it shipped directly to her.
I didn't piece all of this together until a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps someone here has a fraudulent charge and doesn't know why. Anyone purchase from Rakuten.com lately and have this sort of trouble?

That would certainly be a good thing. Please spread the word of this to anyone you know that may shop at Rakuten.
