There is another site that buys and sells cards called Cardpool.com. I haven't looked into the deal when they buy your unwanted cards but for selling, each company card sells at a fixed discount ranging from 1.5% to 21% below face value. For example, I ordered my wife a Jo-Ann Fabrics card at 10% off face value. Paying with the gift card, you still can use any other coupons or discounts that you may have so you get that 10% off in addition to anything else. They ship the cards free so there is no other cost involved.

So head over to the site and check out the offerings. They have a wide range of popular national companies. I may pick up some other cards, like AMC theaters at 18% off which would make going to the movies a more affordable treat or 4% off at Target where we shop all the time. It's a great way to save some money without actually changing what you buy at all.
Thank you! The Apple Store is at 4% discount.
This will save me $25 and my son $25. He gets his Apple discount too so can use both of these discounts together. He is bringing my macbook and his computer down soon

Just wanted to say a quick thanks! This thread got me looking for discounted gift cards for my local home improvement store.

I didn't find any, but did combine the following
      1. found the ceiling fans I wanted 25% off online (not the home improvement store I usually shop)
      2. found discount code generator on pinterest for 10% off anything from that home improvement store
      3. used current 5% cashback discover offer for home improvement stores

So a little work saved me 40% vs. just walking into my usual home improvement store.

So I bought 5 for the house we are currently building (kids rooms and bonus room) and they are being shipped to the house using their free shipping for out of stock offer.

Lowe's giftcards are currently on ebay "daily deals" at 9% discount. Often you will see them for 10% off or so. HTH

            Saving Money with Gifts Cards

I think gifts cards offers a great way to spend less and get more. When giving a money as a gift, it might compel you to tuck more money being stingy. Gifts cards even presents the same problem, but by adding a personal touch such as something homemade, free or inexpensive, the focus shifts from total amount to the talent and time you've given to prepare that gift card.
