I am firmly in the "waste of money" camp. I eat a healthy diet, exercise and live well in general. I barely ever have a sick moment, and have energy like crazy. I think it is mostly in people's heads.

Are vitamins a waste of money?

Vitamins or supplements are a very SMART investment in your health ----
My real concern isn't the actual vitamins but with all the corruption in the world, how do you even know you are actually taking a vitamin and not ingesting rat poison? Most vitamin companies are not FDA regulated, etc.

As far as I'm concerned they are just expensive pee. I eat properly, and I never get sick. I have loads of energy (I run a lot), and feel great. I really see no point in taking vitamins as long as you eat properly. I consider them a racket.

I do take calcium because pre-osteoporis runs in my family. However, I think most vitamins are probably just washed out of the body, unless they are high quality. That being said, I have taken a lot of them for years. My grandmother used to sell vitamins and take them religiously...however, I think it did not help her live longer.Too much of anything can hurt you.
