Tax question; Writing off private contractors in another country

Hi--

New to this forum--

I do some photography work and often hire people to help me in South America (Colombia).

I will be paying many of them over $600. Obviously I will not be 1099ing them

What is the documentation requirement for writing this business expence off?

You just need to keep some form of record that shows you made the payment to them. Paypal records will work as well as other forms as long as you can show that the payments were made. It's the exact same way you would expense payments to people that you pay less than $600 a year.
