I technically was homeschooled part of my freshman year of high-school and my sophomore year. In reality, I was completely responsible for my own education. I took coursework through a University (North Dakota I think??) that had a high-school curriculum. I did fine on everything except for the Algebra class - my parents eventually hired a tutor to work with me for that one. My sophomore year I worked at a local elementary school as a teacher's aide while also working on my classes. I really enjoyed that time, and feel that it gave me time to grow and mature a bit before starting back to "regular" school my Junior year. (I'd completed 7th/8th grade in one-year, so was at least six-months younger than other classmates.)
If I ever have a child, I would like to homeschool them. (I am a certified teacher for Pk-6 with more than 12 years of teaching experience. So I think I could probably do a good job of it.
