Question about buying a Groupon "for a friend"

) though I have considered trying it. I have, however, gotten a "goods" Groupon for a friend once, but it was for something that is physically mailed out to them, so I had to give their mailing address. They never asked for my friend's email or phone number.

Honestly, if there's a particular Groupon that you'd like to do that with, just give it a try. I expect that (if needed) providing your wife's/daughter's contact info would be sufficient to prevent you from having any issues.

I've bought several in the past... there was a restaurant my wife and I loved and they offered a groupon so I bought two (one for me and one for a "friend)... I think they limit you at two. I then had a friend buy two and I paid him for both. Another friend bought two and I bought one from him. We had a total of 5 groupon's for this location and we used all 5.

I think they give you 6 months to use them...

Thanks all. That's kind of what I figured. I'll give it a try.

theduc, expiration actually varies by offer. The one I'm specifically looking at is 120 days but I've had others that were more, so always pay attention. Don't assume you have 6 months.

At least the good thing with a Groupon is you never lose what you paid, even if the promo expires. It will always be worth what you paid for it.
