  • 2012 Taxes

    Hey guys,

I'm gearing up to soon complete my 2012 taxes. I am trying to figure out if it's worth doing itemized or not for my Fed and IL State taxes. Is there a free source to run such calculations online? Or a website which can help me do so that you guys would recommend?

    Thanks!

Google Tax Return calculator and run through a few of the main sites and see what you come up with. Additionally, TurboTax will let you put all your tax return stuff in online, give you all the calculations, and you only pay when you go to file your state return after completing it. That should allow you to run it both ways and know how it works out best for you.

      TurboTax.

You can run standard deduction vs. itemized.

thanks guys! I'll be doing that as soon as my employer posts my W-2 and my loans show qualified interest for 2012. For some reason most of my loans are showing $0 qual interest even thought I paid on 4-5 loans in 2012. Thanks!
