  • Book for my DW

    All,

I am going shopping on Xmas Eve - as I like to do every year - for one final gift. I have been wanting to get a personal finance book for my DW. She has recently expressed an interest (FINALLY! ) and so I presented her with a few options from my existing library - Ramsey, Bach, Commuta.

However, she says they talk to much about investing to keep her interest. Honestly, what she needs is something to encourage her to monitor spending, and an easy system for her to keep track of paying down her credit cards. (I have presented several ideas over the years, but she doesnt really want to hear it from me - and so it goes.)

So I want to find her a book that focuses more on understanding spending and removing debt. Any advice?

    Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

This is an older book, but maybe Mary Hunt's Cheapskate Monthly Money Makeover. The author had quite a bit of debt and she came up with a plan to pay back her bills. She discusses debt repayment by the snowball method and a freedom account. It is a quick read as well.
My other blog is Your Organized Friend.
