Re: Where do you buy your shoes at?

I am now similar to Debtfreeme, though it's a recent switch.

I had always bought cheap shoes, at Ross and Payless and the like. Then, I treated myself to a pair of black low top lace up Doc Martens. They were so incredibly coomfortable, and classic, I loved them. When I told people what a shift it was to buy a pair of shoes for more than $20, a lot of women mentioned Dansko to me. Dansko used to make more shoes for nursing, but they have stylish dress shoes now. The women told me it was an indulgence they didn't regret. I bought a pair and felll in love. It's a dark gray matte leather mary jane. I've had them 2 years and they look almost new, even though I wore them in the snow in Poland for a week. So comfortable. I have bought 2 more pairs. They are about $100 bucks, actually $130 retail, but since I know my size, 38, I can mail order and get for $80. Now two years ago I would have told you "that's crazy!" However, knowing what I know now, I sure wish I had a pair of Dansko's when I worked retail and was on my feet all day. I expect to have these shoes in 10 years.

This is an indulgence I allow myself.

But, I can't on my (modified) minimum wage challenge
