  • Crazy Idea to remove the special interest

So I was thinking about this the other night and I had this crazy idea to get our politicians thinking about us the citizen first and foremost. And the main thing is taking out the special interest out of politics. Of course it will be a cold day in heck (the sister to hell) before it ever happens.

My proposal that you could only give funds to politicians if you are able to vote. If you cant vote then you can not give money to try and influence politicians. That means that special interest no longer can give direct funding to political representatives. Big companies can no longer, PAC's can no longer, unions and foreign entities can no longer give funds.

This will not stop their influence as they will still lobby and go on nice dinners and what have you, but at least at election time it should have the politicians thinking of you. I am sure there is a flaw in my thinking. I think a limit on what you can give so the billionaires dont buy the election.

    What is everyones thoughts?

There is a limit, and they could easily get around by having a 'big' dinner where all voting eaters gave the limit.

but it is a cool idea
