I had someone ask me if I had any suggestions on what would be some free stocking stuffer ideas for Christmas stockings. While I gave a few ideas that I had, I'm sure that there are many more. If you were given this same questions, what suggestions would you make that would make for a good, free stocking stuffer?

Here are some of the ideas that I have passes along
Shampoo, lotion and soaps from hotel stays: my young neices love these.
Freebies from drug stores: Walgreens and CVS have numerous freebies and many of them can be utilized as stocking stuffers.
Free Samples: some make decent stocking stuffers
Make your own: A coupon book of things to do is one idea
Conferences: If you live in or near a big city, look for conferences taking place. many allow free access to the event floor where sponsors set up booths, and these sponsors often give away small (but quality) freebies -- an excellent place to stack up on stocking suffers.
Any more creative thoughts?

I would also suggest the giveaways from sporting events if they fit in stockings. My uncle works as an usher and sometimes gives away the giveaways he collects as gifts. If it's a nice item, I don't care that he got it for free. Yes, I'm 30, but I was still thrilled when he got me a stuffed bunny in my favorite team's jersey a few years ago.
As for making things, don't overlook digital content. If you've got some artistic skills, consider making someone a wallpaper they can use on their computer or a slide show that can be used as a screen saver. If you've got programming skills, a simple custom app could be a really cool gift. In the old days, I used to put gifts like these on floppies, but nowadays you could upload your gift to a web site and put the url on a piece of paper in a stocking.

Not exactly 'free' per se, but if you had the ingredients, you could make some type of baked good like a candy bar, cookie, brownie, etc.
If it is a stocking stuffer for a spouse or S.O., then some type of coupon for a massage, cooking, cleaning, mowing, or some other task you don't do regularly that would be nice to help out.
Flowers from your garden.
Mixtape anyone?...

Gift cards earned for free from Swagbucks. I earned quite a few of these this year. My girls will have iTunes and Barnes and Noble gift cards in their stockings this year.My other blog is Your Organized Friend.
