    One thing you can do is if you eat out non-fast food then you can plan to take half of the meal home (since meal portions are so large), so you can have it for another meal. That way, it helps save your wallet and your waistline.

    The crock pot method that a lot of people suggested is a good idea. Also, soups can be a great way to save money on food (even if you don't make it). Progresso soups are very reasonably priced, but if you make soup yourself, you can make a lot and freeze portion size leftovers for later.
