  • What is the difference between a girl's 5T and a 5?

    Hi All,

What is the difference between a girl's size 5T and size 5?

    Thanks.

I would assume that the T is for tall. So, if we're talking pants, the 5T should be a couple inches longer.

No, no. The T is for Toddler. 5 T is a roomier, wider cut, especially in the bottom. It is a size for a child who eather has a plump bottom or who still wears a diaper.

Good call. I read girl's and thought juniors. I guess it shows that I don't have kids yet.

Thanks Joan. The child is 4 years-old and should be potty trained. The Salvation Army card said a plain 5. Now, I know more specifically what to look for.

No waisted money buying the wrong size.
