The nexus 4 is the best phone under about $600 and putting it on straight talk with an ATT or T-mobile microsim is easy. Go to the Google play store order the phone for 300 for 8gb version or 350 for 16gb version and then follow this video straight talk activation: Activating The Google Nexus 4 With Straight Talk Wireless - YouTube

If T-mobile has good coverage where you live and you don't talk much, they have a 30/month plan with 100 minutes of talk, unlimited text, and 5gb of 4G data before being throttle.

I have a note 2. Some people complain about it's size, but people I talked to that own them all love it.

For me, I could never carry around a tablet. unless I have my backpack with me, which doesn't come out with me that often. So the note is a decent compromise. Bigger than a normal phone, but small enough to still fit in my pocket. If I was a woman and had a purse, then I'd have no problem with a smaller phone + tablet. I do some work related stuff on it as well, and the screen size is decent for watching movies or playing games.

I Love my Samsung Galaxy 2

I have the Samsung Galaxy 2 and I absolutely love it. I am not a phone geek by any stretch of the imagination, but the galaxy is so user friendly that I use many of it's functions. I have all my music, podcasts to listen to on long drives, and other apps on it. It has never given me any problems. It is cheaper than the Samsung 3, but there is not much difference between the two. I like the iphone enough, but you can get the galaxy much cheaper and it's a great product.

You could choose any of the sets from Samsung Galaxy S series. S3 is usually the best ever or for minimized costing you may take a look to S1 or S2.

Being a huge Android fan, I have to put in for the Motorola RAZR (VZW 4G LTE - Ice Cream Sandwich OS). Hands down the best phone I've ever had.
