What are the benefits to a no spend day?

I have tried to participate in those kinds of things, but I haven't found them to be useful FOR ME.

I have a fairly strict budget and write everything down in YNAB. When the $$ for that category is gone, I stop spending for that month in that category.

If I don't spend $50 today for groceries, I will either do it tomorrow or the next day if I need to go to the grocery store anyway.

So, the benefit might be there for those who routinely spend on extras that they really can't afford, but for some of us, they aren't beneficial.

No-spend days force you to look for cheaper ways to amuse yourself. For example, rather than browsing at the bookstore where I might possibly buy something, I go to the library. I also scour newspapers for free things to do on those days, such as concerts or free admission days at my favorite museums.
