First grandparents, started me with small investment and a bank account.

Then friends and family, observing their hardships with debt usually

Then, you all from this forum when I joined at age 21 and you all suggested books, shows, sites, stories, and events.

Nothing's gonna happen until you're put in the position. 'Personal finance' once meant to me a section in the newspaper with little relevance to me. It was after leaving one of my jobs and having accumulated savings that I was driven to something wise.

Materials are aplenty on the web. Everything is an investopedia definition away.

I've learned from my parents and likewise from my friends too and I do a research online for additional info.

There is so much to learn with personal finances as it spans so many disciplines (tax, investment, estate planning, retirement, etc.). The best way to learn all this information is through a good combination of friends, family, books, textbooks, internet (Bloomberg is a great resource), and personal experience. Personal experience often drives the desire (or need) to educate yourself, but it's important to always be learning something new when it comes to personal finances. Textbooks (although largely theoretical) can be a good starting point for how things 'could' or 'should' work, so it can help give a good framework to start from.
