I just passed one of the three exams needed to become an enrolled agent with the IRS. An enrolled agent is a higher level than a registered tax preparer. IT allows you you to anything that a CPA can do in regards to taxes including representing taxpayers during audits. However, they can represent people in every state instead of just one state like CPAs.

Congrats
Congrats, I know that isn't an easy exam to take. I'm working on my Master's in Tax and CPA and have thought about taking the Enrolled Agent Exam, however, I'm told in Florida that there isn't a big need for Enrolled Agent. Best of luck on the rest of the exam. I'd like to see what it does for you so I can better determine whether to get the designation myself.
