I noticed that some of you are selling your used books. Rather than read over this entire site, could you list some of the websites you sell to and expain how this works?

Re: Selling used books
Here are 3 that I'm familiar with:
1) half.com - Affiliated with EBAY.
How it works: You enter the ISBN of the book you want to sell, its condition and the price you want for it. Anytime someone searches half.com for that book, your entry (along with any others selling the same book) will be listed, in quality order (e.g., new, like new, very good, good, acceptable). If a person chooses to buy your book, you'll be notified by email and you need to ship out the book within a few business days. You will receive the price you asked for, plus a shipping allowance (which varies by book). Half.com makes a payment to your Paypal account (I guess by check, too, if you don't have Paypal), I think twice per month.
Pros: You get the price you want for each book; Your inventory stays out there until someone buys it.
Cons: There can be hundreds of the same title for sale at the same time, depending on what you're listing, so it may take a while to sell your copy. Also, it seems like bookstores list brand new items at really cheap prices, which may be cheaper than what you're asking.
2) ebookdrop.com
How it works: You go to the "pricing" section of their website, and enter the ISBN of the book you want to sell. If they'll accept it, they'll tell you how much they'll pay for it. Otherwise, they'll tell you there is no demand for the book at that time. If they'll accept it and you want to sell it to them, you print out a postage-paid shipping label, box up the books and send them out. About 2-3 weeks later, they'll credit your paypal account or send you a check.
The pros: You know immediately if your book will sell and for how much.
The cons: They don't seem to accept a lot of books, and the prices offered are usually lower than you may get at half.com. The tradeoff is that you don't have to wait.
3) Amazon - Don't know too much about this, but I know people have posted about it on this site...
Good luck!
