  • Is there a map site that does this?

Does anyone know of a map website that has a feature that would let me draw a circle a certain distance around a designated point to see what's in the area? For example, we live in the Philadelphia area. I'd like to pull up a map with Philly at the center and draw a circle showing what is within perhaps 100 miles of us in any direction.

I don't know about drawing a circle, but I think mapquest and google maps give you different filters to find points of interest. You can search for lodging, restaurants, gas stations, museums, state parks, etc.

I think Google map suits better services with its features. For custom radius search you can google "radius search".

Does it have to be a circle? What about squares or how about a pentagon?

It has to be a circle if I want it to be a consistent distance from a given point. It could be a parallelogram but then some points will be farther away than others.
